Sew Caring - The beginning

Some beginnings are so gradual that you can't remember any defining moments that took a task or decision from nothing to full speed into something. Having sewn for various charities for years, I took a sample of newborn infant clothing items I had made to work to help explain to my co-workers what I did on my days off. My co-worker, Jule, a former public health nurse in Beltrami County, Minnesota, thought that these items definitely were needed and would be used. Listening to the nurses and staff talk about the community's need for these basics was an eye opener for me, and thus Sew Caring, Inc., a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, was born.

What We Do

Sew Caring are volunteers that sew, knit, crochet and quilt. Its primary focus is on needy children from birth to age five primarily in the Beltrami County, Minnesota area. Anything crafted for that age group works. But that’s not all. While the focus might be on children other items you make are also needed. There are more requests for items than there are volunteers to provide them. Check out our needs list.
